Dr. Alex Merkulov, MD

I am currently a full-time faculty member, at the Assistant Professor level, of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Connecticut / UCONN Health Center. I am also the current Section Head for Women’s Imaging at John Dempsey Hospital and the Women’s Imaging Fellowship Program Director at the UConn School of Medicine.
I am board certified by the American Board of Radiology and completed formal fellowship training in breast and body imaging. My clinical expertise is on the use of imaging techniques and intervention in the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of oncologic conditions. I am also sub-specialty trained in 1) multi-modality breast imaging and intervention, 2) body imaging with CT, ultrasound, and MRI and 3) emergency imaging.
