I have been practicing pediatric dentistry for over eight years now and it is my sole purpose to provide a fun and upbeat experience so that children leave loving the dentist! As a practicing dentist in my office and a Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at LECOM I am able to deliver up-to-date and professional care to the children of the community. My staff has over 72 years of experience in our office.
I have expertise in managing children which includes: infant oral health exams; preventive dental care including cleaning and fluoride treatments, as well as nutrition and diet recommendations. Habit counseling (for example, pacifier use and thumb sucking); early assessment and treatment for straightening teeth and correcting an improper bite (orthodontics). Repair of tooth cavities or defects; diagnosis of oral conditions associated with diseases such as diabetes, congenital heart defect, asthma, hay fever, and attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder. Management of gum diseases and …conditions including ulcers, short frenulae, mucoceles, and pediatric periodontal disease; care for dental injuries (for example, fractured, displaced, or knocked-out teeth).
I have also logged over hundreds of hours in conscious, intravenous sedation, and general anesthesia; providing the full scope of care for any special needs or well care patient.
Treating the pediatric population is a very delicate process, because not only do we manage the developing occlusion but more importantly we must preserve and sculpt the child’s psyche. Through a relaxed and yet fun atmosphere we are able to ease anxieties, subdue fears and inspire comfort and trust; molding the ideal patient. Finally our goal is to provide comprehensive care through educating the patient and parents of all their options using anticipatory guidance to predict future outcomes. Here at A.L.L.
