Dr. Ann Somers
Dr. Ann Somers was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In 1981, her father’s job transfer relocated her family to Grand Junction, Colorado. Out on the western slope, Dr Somers graduated from Grand Junction High School, and fell in love with her new home state.
Dr. Somers returned to Wisconsin where she graduated Cum Laude from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She then returned to Colorado, and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. She completed her training with a periodontal residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While there she also received her Master’s Degree in periodontics. Dr. Somers then returned to Colorado, where she joined the practice of Orban, Silberman and Poulos in the summer of 1998.
Dr. Somers is Board Certified in the practice of periodontics. She is active in organized dentistry, and is a member of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, …the Colorado Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Southwest Society of Periodontics and the American Academy of Periodontics.
Dr. Somers is also an active member of several local study clubs organizations that provide continuing education on the latest topics and technologies pertaining to the practice of periodontics and the surgical placement of dental implants.
When not treating patients, Dr. Somers enjoys spending time with her husband Curtis, their daughter Carolyn, and their Portuguese water dog, Domino. She also enjoys reading, traveling, watching movies, spending time outdoors gardening, and downhill skiing.
