After College he completed a two year graduate program in in less than a year and received his masters degree in neurobiology and physiology from Northwestern University. Dr. Maioriello graduated from Rush Medical College in 1998, and his six year neurosurgical residency was completed at The University of Texas Medical Branch in June 2004. In 2012 he completed the fellowship and started Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine; a new comprehensive neurosurgery practice covering Houston and the surrounding suburbs. His comprehensive clinical/surgical interests include: endovascular surgery for cerebrovascular disease, intra-arterial management of acute stroke, minimally invasive spine surgery, brain and spine tumor surgery, brain and spine trauma surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, general neurosurgery, neurosurgical intensive care, and the surgical management of neck and low back pain.
