Dr. Boback M. Berookhim, MD

Bob Berookhim, MD is the Director of Male Fertility and Microsurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is a board certified urologist and assistant professor of urology at the Zucker School of Medicine. He specializes in male reproductive medicine, microsurgery and sexual medicine. His primary focus is on the medical and surgical management of male infertility, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie s disease, and low testosterone, as well as enlarged prostate (BPH), and urinary stone disease. Dr. Berookhim is an expert in microsurgical vasectomy reversals, microdissection testicular sperm extraction, microsurgical varicocelectomy, penile implants for erectile dysfunction, surgical treatment for Peyronie s disease, male fertility preservation and minimally invasive endoscopic surgery to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones. In addition to delivering exceptional surgical care to his patients, he provides state of the art evidence based medical treatments for male factor infertility …and male sexual dysfunction. He also has extensive experience in the management of general urological conditions. Dr. Berookhim is a graduate of the highly competitive Seven Year Accelerated Liberal Arts and Medical Education (B.A./M.D.) program at Boston University, having gained admission to medical school immediately after high school. He completed an internship in Surgery and residency in Urology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Additionally he completed prestigious fellowships in Male Sexual and Reproductive Medicine at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and in Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery at the Weill Cornell Medical College. He is the co-author of many internationally published studies addressing a myriad of men s health issues including erectile dysfunction, Peyronie s disease, hypogonadism and male infertility, and has presented numerous abstracts at influential medical society meetings. He also serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Urology, American Journal of Men s Health, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, and the Middle East Fertility Society Journal.
