A sports Medicine specialist treats various injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system including the following: Acute sprains and strains, overuse and chronic injuries and pain, fractures, dislocations, osteoarthritis, and concussions. Our practice also perform the following procedures: X-rays, diagnostic ultrasound, fracture/dislocation care and management, including manipulation when necessary, casting, splinting, bracing, light wound care. We also perform the following injections: corticosteriod, Euflexxa (treatment of arthritis), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP -treatment of tendonopathies and other non-healing soft tissue injuries).
The goal of our practice is get our patients back to safe, healthy and active lifestyles as soon as possible. Our Sports Medicine physicians, Dr. Patterson and Dr. Scott strive to relate to every patient they treat. Both former athletes themselves, they know the value of active lifestyles and the importance of effective treatment and …recovery. The entire PCSM team believes that an integral part of care is confidence, trust, and a clear understanding of what is happening inside of each patient’s body.
