Dr. Carter Owen is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board eligible in Medical Genetics and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility, and Medical Genetics, Dr. Owen received the prestigious Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI) Pfizer President’s Presenter’s award for her thesis work on oocyte development. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. While in medical school, she was awarded a clinical research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and focused her research on uterine fibroids. She received her bachelor’s degrees in French and Biology from the University of Georgia. She has presented research at American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Scientific Congress and Expo and the SRI …annual meeting. Dr. Owen has published research in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, and Seminars in Reproductive Medicine. She is passionate about evidence-based reproductive care and has participated in the writing of multiple ASRM committee opinions on topics including polycystic ovarian syndrome and preimplantation genetic testing. Dr. Owen is an associate member of ASRM and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
