Dr. Catherine R. Sellinger, MD

After graduating magna cum laude from Queens College, Dr. Sellinger received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then completed an internship, residency and a chief residency at The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore. Afterward, she worked a complementary year as a Pediatric Educational Fellow, in which she actively taught and supported the Pediatric residents. For the past 19 years, Dr. Sellinger has been working full time in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She remains Board-certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She has been Associate Director of the Pediatric Emergency Services at The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore for the past 12 years, and is active in teaching medical students, residents and nurses. She is also a certified instructor in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, a course she teaches a few times a year. She received a teaching award from the Adult Emergency Medicine residents, as well as the William Obrinsky Award …for excellence in student teaching. She has been inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students.
teaching, she has been involved in many hospital committees, including a three-year term as president of the Governance Council. Currently, she is on the Credentialing Committee, the ED Stat Committee, the Intern Selection Committee and the Pharmacy Therapeutics Committee.
