Pediatric Radiology; Radiology Dr. Charles A. Gooding is chief of pediatric radiology at UCSF Children’s Hospital. He is interested in all aspects of pediatric imaging, the use of radiographs, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, ultrasound and nuclear medicine techniques such as positron emission tomography to diagnose disease and congenital abnormalities in children. Gooding has been president of four professional societies and three professional foundations including the Society for Pediatric Radiology. He received the Antoine Beclere Medal, the highest honor of the International Society of Radiology, and is an honorary member of 20 international societies. He is president of the Radiology Outreach Foundation, an organization he founded in San Francisco in 1988 to improve medical education and health care in developing countries. He also received the UCSF Chancellor’s Award for Public Service and UCSF Department of Radiology Outstanding Teacher Award.
