About Charles Dyer IV
The surgical office of Dr. Dyer prides themselves in not only being at the forefront of technology, offering cone beam volumetric tomography (CT), but also in surgical technique. They continue to offer a wide range of advanced services, and it is this diversity that allows doctors to keep patients at one location, minimizing the burden placed upon the patient. The office of Dr. Dyer considers it an honor to serve, and service is the foundation of their practice.
Providing more than others deem necessary for their doctors, and more importantly their patients, has been tantamount to their success.
Dr. Dyer is a native of Beaumont, Texas, where his father practices Pediatric dentistry. After graduating with honors from Texas A&M University, he received his dental degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. During his tenure at the dental branch, he served as President of his class, Vice President of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, Secretary of the …American Student Dental Association, Treasurer of the Texas A&M University Club and was an active member of Christian Dental Fellowship, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society. He graduated third in his class and made the deans excellence every year. He then attended the University of Kentucky for training in periodontal surgery and implantology. There he served as chief resident, published several articles, and worked in three private dental offices. His education spanned from traditional periodontal therapies to cutting edge surgical techniques. He graduated with a Master of Science in Dentistry and certification in the specialty of Periodontics.
He is an active participant and member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Greater Houston Society of Periodontists, Greater Houston Dental Society, Willowbrook Study Club and the Texas A&M Association of Former Students. Dr. Dyer has been and continues to be a contributing author to several publications, including the International Journal of Dental Research, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology, and the Greater Houston Dental Society Journal. He has had the opportunity to speak in Hawaii, Maryland, and Houston concerning implantology and continues to speak on several periodontal related topics throughout the year. In February of 2009 he will be featured on ABC’s television series “American Health Front,” addressing the role of implants in dentistry. He stays abreast of current therapies through continuing education, literature review, peer review, study clubs, and self study.
Dr. Dyer also holds advanced certification in Krav Maga, Israeli self-defense, and is one of only three instructors to teach this self defense system in Houston and the surrounding area. An avid scuba diver, Dr. Dyer holds advanced, search and rescue, and nitrox certifications. He has worked with and contributed underwater photography to the Shark Research Institute to promote awareness and protect endangered species. He and his family currently reside in Cypress.
