Cynthia (Cyndi) Mrla BA, BSN, RN, MSN, FNP-BC grew up in Ohio where she attended Xavier University for her undergraduate degree in Art with a focus on Art History and Anthropology. In her junior year, she traveled to Colorado to work as a children’s counselor on a horse ranch and promptly fell in love with the mountains and the big skies. She moved to Colorado in 1998, later attending the University of Colorado Health Science Center to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The events of 9/11/01 initially inspired Cyndi to begin her career in emergency medicine; where her passion to serve our most vulnerable populations grew. In 2009, she left the ER to work in a Family Medicine Clinic in order to be closer to her home and to grow her family. After more than 15 years of serving her community as a registered nurse, Cyndi pursued a master’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado. In 2018, she graduated with her Master of Science and completed her board certification as a Family …Nurse Practitioner. She continued her nursing career as an in-patient, skilled rehab provider; specializing in those individuals who are recovering from critical illness and post-operative complications. Through the COVID years, these patients became our sickest and most vulnerable population to care for. Cyndi explains, “I am inspired by the beauty and pure grit of the human spirit; of our ability to rise from the ashes. Sickness and wellness are often a process of being knocked down and picking yourself up again. To me, it is a true honor to be the person who is there to help another when they are vulnerable and hurting. And it is certainly an inspiration to watch them rise again to pursue their own passions. I love to cheer others on to seek and accomplish their potential”In her spare time, Cyndi enjoys running, traveling, dating her husband of 20 years and spending every waking moment cheering her kids on in all their adventures and life accomplishments. She is a mediocre cook, a terrible singer and a loyal friend. She still paints and dabbles in the arts periodically. She is an active member in the American Nurses Association and the Colorado Society for Post-acute and Long-term Care Medicine.Cyndi Mrla, is a member of our Boulder clinic team, where she can be found cheering others on toward their potential and goals related to #HealthyMetabolism, #HealthyMobility, and #HealthyLiving.Spruce Health Group is an Integrated Healthcare Practice dedicated to helping people live their best active lives.
