Dr. Darren Machule grew up in Boise, Idaho and completed his Chemistry degree at the University of Idaho in 1990. He then completed his dental education at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon in 1994 graduating with a DMD.
After dental school, Dr. Machule completed a one year general practice residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, followed by another residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in San Francisco, California.
With his commitment to education Dr. Machule entered a PhD program at University of California San Francisco. He simultaneously completed his PhD in tooth development while pioneering the specialty program in Endodontics, graduating in 2003.
Dr. Machule is committed to taking, as well as teaching, continuing education courses. He is also in the process of becoming board certified in Endodontics, a multiple year commitment.
Dr. Machule became interested in dentistry as a child …through a friend’s dad. He has committed a large part of his life to advanced education in his field and is very passionate about his chosen career. Through his journey Dr. Machule has accumulated extensive training to provide the highest quality patient care. He is very empathetic towards his patients and is dedicated towards the highest standards of care.
In his spare time Dr. Machule enjoys the outdoors as a camper, snowboarder, and river raft guide. Most of his spare time these days is spent with his wife Dr. Phyllis Chen, who is a general dentist, and his two small children Gemma and Jasper.
