David Draper, MD, was touched by cancer as a teenager, when his mother died from metastatic breast cancer. This experience has led him to understand two principle components when caring for patients.#1) Compassion and attentiveness are the keys to understanding a patient’s goals and needs.#2) A physician needs to constantly be educating himself to ensure the best patient outcomes.Dr. Draper’s ambition is to be exemplary in both endeavors. He has been a dedicated physician working with TriHealth Cancer Institute since its inception. He has been the recipient of several accolades including the Cancer Family Care Unsung Hero Award and The Good Samaritan Hospital Educator of the Year Award. He has been featured in Cincinnati Magazine and has consistently been named a Top Doc since 2011. He is the Division Director of Education for the Good Samaritan Internal Medicine Residency Program as well as the Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology for the TriHealth Cancer Institute.
