David Kahan, D.O., is a provider of family medicine who strongly believes in the Golden Rule – treat others how you want to be treated.
“I was taught this long ago from my parents and mentors,” he said. “I strive to follow the Golden Rule every day while helping patients.”
A strong desire to help people of all ages with a variety of medical issues led Dr. Kahan into primary care. He has a particular interest in sports medicine and in working with patients who have hypertension and diabetes.
Dr. Kahan believes regular visits with a primary care provider is a key component to living a healthy life.
“Routine visits and well checks help you stay healthy and reduce the risk of developing illness and chronic conditions,” he said. “Also, you can get help managing chronic conditions so you are less likely to get sick or have complications.”
He considers his relationship with patients a partnership where decisions are made together in a way that makes sense to each individual person. …
Dr. Kahan was born in Brooklyn, New York, but grew up in Phoenix since the age of 6. He received his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Arizona and his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pamona, California. He moved to Tucson in 1995 to complete a family medicine residency and has remained here since then.
