Dr. Denny A. Carter, MD

Denny A. Carter, M.D., is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and joint replacement. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has an additional subspecialty certificate in sports medicine issued by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Carter is credentialed for Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery procedures and has been performing robotic-arm assisted surgery for more than a decade.Dr. Carter Dr. Carter grew up in Georgia with a love of sports and the outdoors. He joined Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery in 2003. Dr. Carter has been heavily involved in bringing new technology to Southeast Georgia Health System, including computer-assisted knee replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, and robotic-arm assisted partial knee replacement, total knee replacement and total hip replacement. Dr. Carter has served as a team physician for Brunswick High School and Frederica Academy. He has worked with the Health System’s outstanding …team of athletic trainers, physician assistants, nurses and doctors in developing a comprehensive sports medicine program for athletes in Glynn, Camden and McIntosh counties. He has served continuously as the medical director of Outpatient Rehabilitation since 2005. He has served as chief of the Department of Surgery at the Brunswick Campus and is currently serving as the chief of the medical staff. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Georgia Orthopaedic Society.Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System, has three convenient locations.
