Dr. Douglas Clemens is a pediatric dentist who has been in practice since 1987. He attended Eastern Mennonite University, where he majored in Biology, and Temple University School of Medical Dentistry, where he earned his dental degree. He completed his pediatric dental training at Children’s Hospital, National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., affiliated with Georgetown University. He served as Chief Resident in Pediatric Dentistry from 1986-1987. Subsequently, while in private practice in southern Maryland for ten years, he was also a Clinical Instructor at Children’s Hospital. He has been associated with Cross Keys Dental Associates since 1995.
Dr. Clemens is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Maryland Academy of Dentistry, Special Care Dentistry Association, which includes the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities, the American Association of Hospital Dentist and the American Society for Geriatric …Dentistry.
He is also on the Clinical Advisory Board of the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, USA, and the Scientific Advisory Council of the World Federation for Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, through which he has seen families and lectured both nationally and internationally. He is currently a member of the Greater Baltimore Cleft Lip and Palate Team, and has previously been part of Teams at Children’s Hospital, National Medical Center, Kernan Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a member of the medical staff at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He has collaborated and published research related to Cornelia de Lange syndrome in peer-reviewed dental and genetic journals.
Dr. Clemens is married to Antonie Kline, M.D., pediatric geneticist at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and they have three children. His interests are traveling, woodworking, bee keeping and spending time with his family.
