Dr. Douglas P. Bethoney

Meet Douglas P. Bethoney, DMD
Dr. Douglas Bethoney has completed over 15,000 endodontic procedures and is one of Tampa Bay’s most experienced endodontists and microsurgeons. Dr. Bethoney was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1992. He then joined the United States Air Force and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Barksdale, AFB, Shreveport, LA in 1993. He subsequently served at Yokota AB, Japan and Patrick AFB, Cocoa Beach, FL as a general dentist. He went on to receive his Certificate in Endodontics from a joint program with the United States Air Force and the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2002. Dr. Bethoney’s final military assignment was Ramstein AB, Germany where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served as Chief of Endodontics in the European Theatre from 2002 to 2004. During his tenure there, Dr. Bethoney was responsible …for the endodontic care of over 34,000 American service members and their families.
Dr. Bethoney is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Florida Association of Endodontists, Florida Dental Association, West Coast District Dental Association and Hillsborough County Dental Association. He has also participated in numerous dental study clubs and has lectured internationally on various endodontic topics.
In his spare time, Dr. Bethoney enjoys running, cycling, golfing and reading.
