Dr. Elena Frid, MD

Elena Frid, M.D., is an American board certified neurologist who holds double board certification from
The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and The American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN). Dr. Frid helps patients (adolescents and up) with all types of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Dr. Frid is an active member of the AAN, AMA, ACNS, and AANEM and is an attending physician Lenox Hill, North Shore, and Long Island Jewish hospitals.
Dr. Frid began her medical training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she was accepted for an elite 7 year BA/MD program. She went on to do her post graduate training in Neurology at North Shore University Hospital – Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine, where during her final year of residency she was selected to serve as a chief resident.
Dr. Frid continued her medical training at North Shore LIJ University Hospital and …enrolled into a very competitive and highly skilled neurological fellowship training program in Electrophysiology (NCS/EMG/EP) under the close watch of Dr. Murthy Vishnubhakat, a 30+ year neurology specialist, and an Electroencephalography (EEG) with Dr. Cynthia Harden, a nationally recognized published author for medical reviews and a chief of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Care Institute at North Shore LIJ Health Systems.
To further her knowledge and offer valuable solutions to her patients, Dr. Frid spent time learning Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) with Dr. Ronal Emerson, a former president of American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and a director of Intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) at Cornell.
