Dr. Elizabeth Marie Welch, MD

Dr. Welch formally joins our group after many years of close collaboration in her role as associate neonatologist and cardiologist for the well-respected Pediatrix Medical Group. After adding an M.D. degree to her R.N. degree, Dr. Welch’s post-graduate training tool place at Downstate Medical Center (pediatrics) and the University of Miami (cardiology, neonatology). She is board certified in pediatrics, neonatology and cardiology. Her diverse background and many years of experience as a board certified cardiologist and neonatologist make her an invaluable addition to our non-invasive imaging lab, cardiac intensive care unit, and outpatient service.
Dr. Welch’s current interests include the role of complex genetic disorders as they relate to children with congenital heart disease. Her creation of a multidisciplinary support group for families with Chromosome 22 deletions has already made a tremendous impact on the ability to provide comprehensive care for patients with this …complex disorder.
