Dr. Ellen Lin, MD

Dr. Ellen Lin is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with additional certification in pain medicine. Dr. Lin has always had a strong desire to improve and maximize the quality of life for the patients she treats. She chose physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) because the specialty emphasizes restoring patients quality of life by embracing a comprehensive treatment approach. During her PM&R residency, she trained with many orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, sports medicine specialists, trauma surgeons, electromyographers, physiatrists, geriatricians, internists and pain specialists. The diverse training experience gave her a unique perspective and diagnostic ability to serve her patients suffering from various pain conditions. Dr. Lin went on to pain fellowship training at the University of Texas in Houston and the University of Texas Southwestern. She had the opportunity to …work and train with some of the top interventional pain management physicians in the country. Dr. Lin was the first person in the history of the program to graduate from the department of anesthesiology pain management fellowship with a background in PM&R. Dr. Lin was offered a faculty position at UT Southwestern but instead decided to return back home to San Antonio. She is now a part of the team as the board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional pain management specialist at the Texas Center for Athletes. Dr. Lin’s special interests are spinal cord stimulator implantation for neck and back pain and vertebroplasty for osteoporotic fractures of the spine.
