Previously, she had been an Associate Professor in OB/GYN at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School after completing her residency in OB/GYN at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She is board certified by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
