Dr. Evelyn Mendez, MD

Dr. Mendez has been practicing medicine since 1982 and she is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico. She performed her residency at University Children’s Hospital in Puerto Rico and her postgraduate work at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Dr. Mendez specializes in general pediatric gastroenterology and liver diseases with special interest in:
-Irritable Bowel Disease
-Eosinophilic enteropathies
-Endoscopic procedures: endoscopy, colonoscopy, anal rectal manometry, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy placement, and pH probes
Her work has been widely acclaimed; she’s been awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Service Medal, and an Outstanding Teacher Award. She’s affiliated with the American Gastroenterological Association and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
