Dr. Rau received his Bachelors Degree in biochemistry, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in1980 and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Hartford Hospital from 1984-1988 where he received the Joseph Klein Award for outstanding performance. Dr. Rau completed a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1991.
his practice in obstetrics and gynecology for adult women, Dr. Rau is Director of the Division of Gynecology at Connecticut Childrens Medical Center in Hartford and sees children and adolescents for gynecologic consultations. Dr. Rau is certified in da Vinci(r) robotic surgery and has an active minimally-invasive gynecologic surgical practice. Dr. Rau is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Ob Gyn and Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He became board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in …1990 and joined Gynecology & Obstetrics in 1991.
