Gary J. Correnti, M.D. received both his bachelors and medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He performed his general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He did his neurosurgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. While in Philadelphia, Dr. Correnti served as Resident Representative to the Operating Room Committee and was later Co-Chairman of the Housestaff Committee and Resident Representative to the Medical Board. He was in private practice in Pittsburgh for one year at Allegheny General Hospital prior to joining Southwest Florida Neurosurgical Associates in 1995. Dr. Correnti is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He is a member of the Lee County Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. His scope of practice includes cervical …and lumbar spine surgery, ranging from decompressive microsurgery to complex spinal instrumentation, and intracranial microsurgery, including treatment for brain tumors, vascular disorders and trauma.
