Dr. Taliaferro is an ABOS Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon originally from St. Petersburg, Florida and a married father of two children. He is a graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed internship at the Washington Hospital Center and residency training at Howard University Hospital both in Washington, D.C. His clinical interests are in shoulder surgery (rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, shoulder replacement), as well as arthroscopic management of the hip in young athletes. He has nearly 20 years of clinical experience in orthopaedics and is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy and served an 8 month deployment with the U.S. Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom.   Dr. Taliaferro’s patient care philosophy is to listen thoroughly to patient concerns, then educate and explain in the simplest terms their condition or injury pattern and take ample time to answer questions.
