Houshang Seradge, MD, FICS Orthopedic Surgeon Shoulder, Knee, Wrist, and Hand Surgery Dr. Seradge completed his orthopedic training at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He also received training in hip surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital from Dr. William Harris, a renowned surgeon. Dr. Seradge furthered trained in knee surgery under Dr. William Barrett, the founder of the internationally known center for arthroscopic knee surgery in Florida. Dr. Seradge next entered a fellowship with Dr. Harold E Klienert, the international leader for hand surgery and microsurgery at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Seradge joined the faculty of the Orthopedic Department of Oklahoma University Medical School where he cared for patients and taught doctors and medical students. He was the Director of Orthopedic Surgery at the VA hospital and the Chief of Hand Surgery at both University Hospital and Children%u2019s Hospital. Dr Seradge remained …as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery for many years while establishing a growing private practice in Oklahoma City. Dr. Seradge is an internationally recognized physician with over 60 publications, including in-state, national, and international medical journals and textbooks covering all aspects of orthopedic surgery including shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, and foot. Dr. Seradge has given over 150 lectures locally and around the world. Dr Seradge established an international medical educational and research program from which he continues to train doctors from other countries. In 1996, Dr Seradge founded a not-for-profit foundation. The foundation provides free medical and surgical care for the working poor. Furthermore, the foundation provides free education to industries with the goal of injury prevention. He is an advocate of non-surgical treatment and has designed exercises that numerous companies have adopted. Now millions around the world are using Dr. Seradge%u2019s exercises and implementing his techniques to prevent injuries and surgeries. One specific company in Oklahoma City was able to reduce on-the-job injuries by 45% after implementing Dr. Seradge%u2019s recommendations. He also has an interest in preventing injuries in children. As a result, he has developed a free, injury prevention program in Oklahoma schools. As the founder of the Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Seradge has gathered talented young physicians to treat all aspects of musculoskeletal disorders, from arthritis to joint replacement, from pain management to complex surgical procedures, all under one roof. Dr. Seradge is a member of many national and international medial societies. He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and has added qualifications in surgery of the hand. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pain Management. Because of his exceptional qualifications, Dr. Seradge is an invited member of the International Wrist Investigators, a prestigious society with only 122 members around the world.
