Dr. Ivan Harlan Jacobs, MD

Ivan Jacobs, M.D. is a Founder of the Eye Care & Surgery Center in New Jersey. Dr. Jacobs is a Board Certified and Fellowship trained New Jersey Ophthalmologist who specializes in Cataract Surgery as well as the medical, laser and surgical treatment of Glaucoma. Dr. Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University and his Medical Degree cum laude from Jefferson Medical College. He completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at New York University as well as a Fellowship in Glaucoma at New York University.
Dr. Jacobs holds the academic title of Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and has served as President of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. In addition to being a member of the American Glaucoma Society, he is only one of a few surgeons in New Jersey to have been successfully certified in cataract surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery.
As a well …recognized New Jersey cataract surgeon, he is acknowledged as a leader in minimally invasive “small incision, no needle, no stitch, no patch” outpatient cataract surgery in New Jersey using only “eye drop anesthesia” as well as bladeless laser cataract surgery in NJ. In addition he is committed to helping NJ patients with cataracts to become independent of eyeglasses, reading glasses and bifocals through the use of advanced technology near vision presbyopia correcting lens implants such as the Tecnis® Multifocal Lens Implant (IOL), the AcrySof®ReSTOR® Multifocal Lens Implant and the Crystalens® Accommodating Lens Implant, as well as providing lens implants for astigmatism including the AcrySof® Toric Lens Implant and the Tecnis® Toric Lens Implant.
Dr. Jacobs provides advanced technology eye care diagnosis and treatment to his patients. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
