Dr. Jim Lichtsinn is a lifetime resident of Moorhead, MN and graduated from Concordia College with honors. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1983. After graduating, he completed a post-doctoral general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis and was an instructor at the U of M School of Dentistry.
He returned to Moorhead in 1986 and purchased the practice of Dr. Louis Remark, where he enjoyed 21 years working in the Dental Associates Building. In January 2008, Dr. Lichtsinn relocated his practice to Fargo and established his state-of-the-art clinic at Southpointe Dental.
Dr. Lichtsinn’s passion for dentistry has led him to study at the Dawson Center for the Advancement of Dentistry and the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. His extensive studies at these prestigious institutes include: dental implants, …reconstructive
dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and treatment of TMJ dysfunction. He attends 30-50 hours of advanced dental continuing education annually.
A vested member of the dental community, Dr. Lichtsinn is an active member of the American Dental Association, North Dakota Dental Association and Southeast District Dental Association. He participates with the Pankey Advanced Learning Group, a study club of dentists who pursue excellence in treating complex dental cases. He is past president and on the board of the Red River Dental Access Project, a local philanthropic group dedicated to finding dental care for disadvantaged patients. He regularly volunteers at the Urgent Care Clinic and donates treatment to the Donated Dental Services program.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann. They have two grown children- a son who attends medical school and a daughter who is studying child psychology, both at the University of Minnesota. Jim and Mary are active members of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead. Jim enjoys fishing and leisure activities “at the lake”. In his spare time, he also enjoys reading, travel and attending theater productions.
