A native of Atlanta, he graduated from Dunwoody High School in 1980 in the top five percent of his class and later completed his prerequisites for admission into dental school at Auburn University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with Highest Honors. Graduating first in his class, Dr. Awbrey received his doctorate degree in dentistry after completing four years of training at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He completed two full years of specialty training in orthodontics during his residency at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. In addition to his training as a specialist, he has completed the rigorous additional study and examinations required to become certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is among the small percentage of …orthodontists in the United States to earn this degree of recognized excellence in his specialty. Dr Awbrey has worked very hard to be the very best in every aspect of his life and he is committed to continuing by bringing you the very best in orthodontic care.
Dr. Awbrey is a loving father to his four children, James, Coleton, Caroline and Cade. His oldest son James is attending EMT school and is working full-time in Atlanta. Coleton is attending Georgia Southern and is interested in pursuing dentistry as a profession. Cade is involved in club soccer and our daughter Caroline is involved in competition cheerleading.
Dr. Awbrey enjoys health and fitness, motorcycling and snowboarding.
