Dr. James M. Vogel, MD

James M. Vogel, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine and a Senior Clinical Attending Physician in the division of Hematology/Oncology at Beth Israel Hospital. He received his medical degree from Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. Subsequent training was completed at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Vogel is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. In addition, he is a New York State licensed laboratory and blood bank director. While at the National Cancer Institute prior to assuming his clinical duties, he developed an expertise in leukocyte kinetics and published on this and other topics in peer reviewed journals. At present his interest is focused on treatment of patients with acute and chronic leukemia, as well as on patients with metastatic carcinoma of the colon and breast. He has served on a number of advisory panels, in particular a national breast advisory group which participates in disseminating clinical standards …to practitioners throughout the United States.
