Cutting Edge Research Experience
Dr. Metcalf continues to stay on the ”cutting edge” of Orthodontic clinical research. 3M Unitek Corporation, a leading research, design and manufacturer of Orthodontic products extended an invitation to Dr. Metcalf to partner with them in their clinical research and development of their Intraoral Digital Scanner. This included being part of 3M’s clinical digital “impressionless” studies of real time digital study models and orthodontic appliances. Dr. Metcalf is one of three orthodontists worldwide to pioneer this digital orthodontic research study. It is a great honor for him to play such a vital role in the advancement of digital orthodontics, which will one day eliminate the need for orthodontic impressions.

Dr. Metcalf has been in private practice as a Specialist in Orthodontics for over 25 years with offices in both Chelmsford, MA and Nashua, NH. He and his wife Cindy have been married for over 35 years and reside in New Hampshire. They have two children, a son, Jeffrey and a daughter, Jennifer. Now that their children are grown and have moved out on their own, he and Cindy enjoy their three dogs and two cats, all adopted from local animal shelters. Dr. Metcalf has been elected a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. In his spare time you will find Dr. Metcalf fishing or woodworking.
