Dr. James Rutledge Copeland, MD

Dr. Copeland joined Overlake Internal Medicine Associates in 2003. He earned his medical degree from Medical college of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. He did his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, Richmond, Virginia .
He completed fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. In addition, he has a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Copeland is board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Internal Medicine. Professional affiliations include American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and American College of Chest Physicians.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
