James Spain, MD, Ph.D., is a Staff Member in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. His specialty interests include hepatic treatment including biliary drainage and chemoembolization, and urologic intervention including percutaneous nephrostomy and ureteral techniques. Dr. Spain earned his medical degree and his doctorate from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine in Buffalo, NY. He completed a residency at Penn State Geisinger-Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Penn. He also completed a fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with an added qualification in Vascular Intervention. Dr. Spain has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as computerized patient imaging, neurochemistry and biochemistry.
