Dr. Joseph received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Boston University in 1988 and Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1992. Dr. Joseph completed his Residency in Urologic Surgery at the University of Rochester/ Strong Memorial Hospital in 1998. He completed his fellowship training in reconstructive urologic surgery at the University College London in England in 2000, and completed a Master Class in laparoscopic prostatectomy in Paris in 2001. Dr. Joseph also earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2004. Dr. Joseph’s specializes in robotic surgery for urologic diseases, particularly prostate cancer. His areas of clinical and research interests have been on improving outcomes of men treated surgically for prostate cancer. He is known nationally and internationally for his work in this area. He is a pioneer in the field of robotic surgery, and recently served as President of the …Society of Urologic Robotic Surgery. He has authored numerous medical journal articles on topics related to robotic and minimally invasive surgery. He serves as editor for “Doctor’s advice” a patient oriented magazine focused on preventative health. He is a board-certified urologic surgeon. He is Professor of Urology and Oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he also serves as director of the Center for Robotic Surgery.
