Jennifer Y Chu, MD is fellowship trained and specializes in the hand and upper extremity. She treats sports injuries, arthritis, congenital deformities, nerve compression, and trauma including fractures and injuries to nerves, blood vessels, and tendons. She performs arthroscopy of the wrist, elbow, and shoulder, reconstructive microsurgery, and endoscopic cubital and carpal tunnel release surgeries. Dr. Chu grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. She received both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Stanford University, where she graduated with honors and distinction in Biological Sciences and English. Dr. Chu attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, where she received a full tuition merit scholarship and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. She completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Rochester in New York and then moved to Pennsylvania for a hand and upper …extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot. She is currently a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Outside of work, Dr. Chu enjoys spending time with her husband and children, running, and watching football. Dr. Chu has been nominated for the sixth consecutive year for D Magazine’s 2023 Best Docs.Dr. Chu was recognized by D Magazine as a “”Best Doctor in Collin County”” for 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.D Magazine has named Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic Associates of Dallas the Face of Orthopedics for 2024.
