Dr. Jerry W. Tsong, MD

Dr. Jerry Tsong is a board certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in medical retina. He graduated MIT in the top 5% of his class with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. He then graduated Harvard Medical School with an M.D. degree. Jerry completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and residency at The George Washington University Medical Center, where he was named Chief Resident. He also completed a fellowship in medical retinal at the world-renowned Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles. He see patients for routine eye “check-ups” (glasses/contact lenses) as well as complicated retina consultations.
Jerry specializes in the treatment of complex retinal disorders such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, vitreous floaters, and retinal tears. Jerry has published original research in leading medical journals such as Retina and Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science. In addition, he has written a book …chapter on wet AMD.
Jerry understands that having an eye problem can be scary and frightening, so he makes every effort to treat his patients with care and understanding. Jerry has been recognized repeatedly by receiving the “Patient’s Choice Award” and “Compassionate Doctor Award.”
Jerry is an active participant in the local community and often volunteers to promote public awareness about eye health. He has been featured on “Spotlight on Medicine”, the weekly WGCH radio show hosted by Tony Savino. Jerry’s family is originally from Taiwan and he speaks Mandarin Chinese.
