Dr. John Brannan Smoot, MD

J. Brannan Smoot, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in knee, foot, and ankle surgery. Dr. Smoot is also sub-specialty certified in sports medicine. In 2012, Dr. Smoot was recognized by his peers on the Texas Super Doctors® list.
Dr. Smoot received a bachelor of arts in human performance and health sciences from Rice University in Houston. He graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed both an internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Smoot also completed a knee fellowship as well as a foot and ankle fellowship in Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Smoot is married with three children and spends much of his spare time with his kids or coaching their sports teams. He played division I college football at Rice University, and represented the USA in rugby against Canada in 1992. Dr. Smoot enjoys participating in triathlons and adventure racing when he can.
