Dr. John M. Lim was born in Canton, China in 1952 and has lived in Houston, Texas since the age of nine. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1969.
Dr. Lim attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston for his undergraduate degree and received a post-graduate degree as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 1976. After two years of Optometric practice, Dr. Lim returned to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received his Doctor Of Medicine degree in 1982.
Dr. Lim’s post-graduate medical training began with his internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston and continued through three years of ophthalmology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Lim has been with Houston Eye Associates as a partner since 1986. He received his board certification through the American Board of Ophthalmology. His primary interests include general ophthalmology with an emphasis on small incision cataract surgery …and glaucoma management.
Dr. Lim has three children, Johnathan, Jamie, and Justin. He enjoys spending time with his family and his outside interests are playing golf, hunting, and saltwater fishing.
