I earned a Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences, with honors, from the University of Florida, and remain a die-hard Gators fan. I completed my medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before serving a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med/Peds) residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. I am board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
The first eight years of my career, I practiced with Kaiser Permanente in Denver, Colorado. During that time, I became the regional expert in the management of hypertension, and helped develop system which still leads the country in the quality of care provided. My practice was also recognized by the National Council for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for excellence in the care of diabetes, and earned the highest rating as a Patient Centered Medical Home. As a former triathlete, I have a special medical interest in Sports Medicine, specifically in the care of endurance …athletes and adolescents. I have volunteered several times in the medical tent at the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
