Dr. Jonathan David Solomon, MD

Dr. Solomon is a board certified Ophthalmologist specializing in Anterior Segment Surgery including Cataract and Refractive Surgery. As a native of Greenbelt, Dr. Solomon is a graduate with honors of the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine, and completed his post-graduate training at the prestigious Casey Eye Institute and Devers Eye Institute of Portland, Oregon.
A fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and member of the distinguished Cornea Society, Dr. Solomon serves as an executive board member of the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and maintains his affiliation with the University of Maryland as the Terps LASIK surgeon. Dr. Solomon is also a founding member of the American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgeons and serves on the Accreditation Board for the Cornea Society. He continues to remain active in the academic …community as a Clinical Instructor at The Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins University. He also has been working closely with the leading manufacturers of precision surgical equipment including instruments and intraocular lens implants, in an effort to improve surgical outcomes.
Dr. Solomon has distinguished himself as the youngest surgeon qualified to utilize all three FDA approved presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses, and was the first surgeon to perform wavefront-guided LASIK as part of a residency training program. Dr. Solomon’s spirit and compassion extend beyond his achievement in the surgical theatre, and he has been acknowledged for his efforts by GQ magazine in their Men of the Year issue.
