Dr. Jonathan Eric Scheiner, MD

Certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1999, Dr. Scheiner then completed fellowship training in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Scheiner received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Yeshiva University and his Medical Degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center.
Since joining Staten Island University Hospital in 2000, Dr. Scheiner has been instrumental in the development of the Vascular & Interventional Department. His major interests are in carotid stenting, endovascular repair of the abdominal and peripheral vasculature, tumor embolization, urinary tract intervention, minimally invasive image-guided biopsies and pain management.
As Associate Chairman of Radiology, Dr. Scheiner is responsible for operations, quality assurance and performance improvement. He has developed systems to accomplish …computerized tracking and reporting of peer review. In addition to his involvement with resident education both at SIUH and throughout New York City, he is actively involved in research, having published several articles in scientific journals. Most recently, along with his colleagues at SIUH, Dr. Scheiner has submitted a number of abstracts to the Radiologic Society of North America, among them: “Evaluation and Treatment of Cystic Adventitial Disease of the Popliteal Artery” and “The Impact of Transitioning from Card-based Radpeer to Integrated E-Radpeer”.
