Dr. Joseph Assini, MD

Joseph Assini, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon highly experienced in hip replacement, knee replacement, complex joint reconstruction and general orthopedic trauma. He is a developer of the AnteriorPATH technique for total hip arthroplasty, which is a novel procedure to enhance the recovery of patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty. He is also Colorado’s highest volume user of the Medial Pivot Total Knee Arthroplasty, a unique implant specifically designed to replicate the normal kinematics of the patient’s knee. He received an undergraduate degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and his medical degree with honors from the University of Sydney in Australia. He completed residency training in his hometown of London, Ontario, Canada in the division of orthopedic surgery at Western University. He furthered his training with a clinical fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at Weill-Cornell Medical …College and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. There, he learned from leaders in the field and was exposed to highly complex cases and state-of-the-art treatments.
Dr Assini is dedicated to optimizing the health of each of his patients using both operative and non-operative techniques. He has a strong interest in Rapid Recovery Total Joint protocols and outpatient based joint replacements. He cares deeply about his patients’ whole health and is dedicated to getting them back to the activities they love quickly and successfully.
