A Louisiana native, Dr. Brakta earned his undergraduate degree at LSU Baton Rouge and completed master’s degree coursework at Tulane University. He received his medical degree at LSU Health …Sciences Center-Shreveport. His surgery residency was at Washington Hospital Center in D.C., a teaching hospital for Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Brakta is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
