Dr. Kreidl, originally from San Francisco, California, started practicing at the Boulder Medical Center in 2004. Before coming to Boulder, he was an ophthalmology resident at Stanford University Hospital. He and his wife, Ryn, a local pediatrician, have two children, Luke and Max. Dr. Kreidl loves going mountain biking or skiing with his family, and was a nationally ranked tennis player before becoming dedicated to medicine.
MEDICAL TRAINING AND SPECIALTY
Dr. Kreidl graduated from Princeton University in 1994 with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and a minor in Environmental Studies. He received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Kreidl provides his patients with sutureless cataract removal, prebyopic intraocular lens implantation (i.e. Crystalens, Trulign, ReSTOR), the latest techniques in eyelid and glaucoma surgery, laser surgery for glaucoma and retinal disease, pediatric examination, along with routine eye exams, …glasses, and contact lenses. He was one of the first surgeons to offer his patients the Trulign Toric intraocular lens, which provides both accommodation (distance and near vision) and astigmatism correction.
Dr. Kreidl is an active researcher in the field of ophthalmology, and has published research articles in top peer reviewed medical journals on research in glaucoma, eye trauma, and retinal disease. He is interested in education, and has been a guest lecturer at Stanford University, and has written a chapter in a medical textbook as well. Dr. Kreidl has also volunteered his time with the non-profit group Prevent Blindness. He is also active with the University of Colorado, giving lectures to both undergraduates in the pre-med program, as well as faculty and staff.
