Dr. Patel joined National Spine & Pain Centers in 2012 after completing a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he was trained to perform the most advanced non-surgical techniques by one of the world’s leading experts in pain management.Prior to his Fellowship, Dr. Patel completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, during which time he authored content for a preeminent pain management textbook.Dr. Patel has received numerous awards and distinctions throughout his academic career and medical training. He is expertly trained in a variety of diagnostic specialties and treatments, including: fluoroscopic-guided spinal injections, radiofrequency ablation, discography, spinal cord stimulation, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty and peripheral nerve injections.As an individual with scoliosis, Dr. Patel intimately appreciates the impact chronic pain has on his patients’ lives. He eagerly works with patients and their families to create customized plans to treat their pain and restore quality of life.Dr. Patel is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management.
