I am board certified in Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery and fellowship-trained in rhinology, sinus surgery and anterior skull base surgery. I am chairman of the American Rhinologic Society IT Committee as well as on the Board of Directors for the American Rhinologic Society. I serve on the Rhinology & Paranasal Sinus Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery. I currently practice and research at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I see patients with chronic sinusitis, sinus cancer, sinus tumors, polyps, deviated septums and those who would like a consultation regarding endoscopic sinus surgery or revision endoscopic sinus surgery.
There are quite a lot of misconceptions surrounding chronic sinusitis, and many people are misdiagnosed with this illness. When it comes to meeting patients, my goals are to understand what symptoms people have and to gather as much data as I can to avoid overtreating or undertreating people. In most …cases, chronic sinusitis can be treated with medicine. Very few will need surgery, but when people do have surgery, the improvements in quality of life can be quite substantial.
