Dr. Krishna Kumari Kakani, MD

Dr. Kakani has been practicing in Huntsville for the past 26 years. She is the founder of Tennessee Valley OB..-GYN and has seen it grow over the years to five Board Certified OB../GYN physicians and three Nurse Practitioners. Her specialization includes obstetrics and gynecology both routine and high-risk pregnancies, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted gynecological surgery, pelvic floor reconstruction with special interest in urinary incontinence. She graduated from Maris Stella College and Guntur Medical School in India and moved to the states in 1979 soon after medical school. She completed a rotating internship in Birmingham, Ala and OB../GYN residency in Savannah, GA and then moved to Huntsville. She initially worked with the UAB School of Medicine along with her private practice. She is a fellow of ACOG/ABOG, a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and a member of the Madison County Medical Society. She and her husband have two children, Shravan who is …currently in medical school and Swapna who is attending college. Krishna loves serving her community in her spare time; she donates her time at the Huntsville Community Clinic as well as working with students and residents at UAB. She also loves gardening and cooking for her family and friends.
