Leah Sanchez, M.D., a pediatric neurologist, recently joined the team at the Neurology Center of East Alabama. Dr. Sanchez is our areau2019s first pediatric neurologist and treats pediatric patients with a wide range of neurological disorders. Previously, pediatric neurology patients and their families would have to travel outside the region to receive this type of treatment.Dr. Sanchez earned her medical degree from Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu, Philippines. She completed her pediatric residency at Seton Hall University St. Josephu2019s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, where she was Chief Resident, and completed her pediatric neurology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. Dr. Sanchezu2019s medical interests include headaches, seizures, sleep, developmental and neuromuscular disorders, and EEG interpretation in children.
