Dr. Maggie T. Chao, DDS

Dr. Maggie T. Chao earned her DMD from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She then furthered her training at Harvard to sharpen her diagnostic and clinical skills with a residency in Prosthodontics. During her residency, she was awarded for her achievements in material science research and excellence in clinical care. Dr. Chao also earned a Master of Medical Science in Oral Biology.
Originally from California, Dr. Chao completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley before moving to Boston for dental school. Having returned to the Bay Area in 2002, Dr. Chao pursues her love for academia as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California at San Francisco. She is currently on sabbatical at the University to focus on her private practice and raising her two young children.
Dr. Chao is also recognized for her presentations on her research and innovative clinical techniques at national dental conferences. Dr. Chao keeps up to date with the …latest technology as an active member in the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Contra Costa Dental Society, and the American College of Prosthodontics. Dr. Chao is a board-eligible member of the American Board of Prosthodontists. Locally, she is the Prosthodontic consultant to several Study Clubs dedicated to improving the knowledge base of dentists in our community.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Chao enjoys exploring and introducing the world and new experiences to her young children with her husband Wan. As an enthusiastic person dedicated to self-improvement, Dr. Chao would like to get back to running marathons and to continue painting– hopefully all her artwork won’t look like teeth!.
