I am committed to finding the best means to promote, maintain and enhance the function of my patients as defined by their hopes and aspirations. We believe in a team approach if you are my patient. You are the head of the team. I can assist with information acquisition, explanations of the information including diagnosis and treatment and guide treatment decisions, if desired. Some patients are vulnerable due to cognitive or emotional difficulties but in general the patient or a family or other advocate will make the final decisions. As health care providers we are dependent on the patient and those around them to provide us with as much valid information as possible. Listening to hear that information and sometimes even to wade though it is my job. I take my job seriously but I love a light hearted attitude when we can add it.
